Payment and Insurance
I currently am unable to accept or bill insurance directly, although I hope to accept a limited number of insurance providers in the future. At this time, all services are private pay only. I am happy to provide you with a superbill that you can then submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Check with your insurance about your out of network benefits and coverage.
Here are some of the most common billing codes used by SLPs that you can reference when asking your insurance about coverage: 92507 (individual treatment of speech, language, voice, communication, and/or auditory processing), 92521 (evaluation of speech fluency), 92522 (evaluation of speech sounds), 92523 (evaluation of speech sounds WITH language comprehension and expression), 92523-52 (evaluation of language comprehension and expression only), 92524 (evaluation of voice and resonance), 92607 (Evaluation for prescription for speech-generating augmentative and alternative communication device), 92609 (therapy services for use of speech generating AAC device including programming and modification), 97550 (caregiver training).
If you do not have insurance or are not using insurance, you have a right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including speech therapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including speech therapy services. You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
